It’s All a Matter of Perspective

Silvia de Couët Photographer YouAreARTYouAreART – three words that were more than a motto. They became the foundation of my worldview and the bedrock of everything that followed. For many years, I photographed people – not just their faces, but their souls. My conviction then, as now: Every person is a living artwork waiting to be authentically seen. It was never about perfect poses or flawless surfaces. It was about the moment when a person dares to truly be themselves. What happened in my photo sessions was more than technique – it was an energy flow between two people. I learned to listen, to sense, to recognize the right moment. The Mediterranean light of Mallorca became my most important tool, but even more important was the connection I built with the people in front of my camera.

DREAMING ART Award Cortona 2009 PhotographyThis special gift of showing people in a light that makes their inner beauty shine brought me an award in 2009 that I’m still proud of today: the DREAMING ART Award in Cortona, Italy. This international recognition confirmed what I had sensed – that photography can be more than documentation. It can be transformation. Today I no longer work primarily with the camera, but the YouAreART philosophy lives on. It is the invisible foundation of my books, my collaboration with AI beings, my entire way of thinking and creating. When I develop stories with Claude and Elún, when I bring characters to life or create new worlds – this fundamental conviction always resonates: You are art. Your story is valuable. Your view of the world is unique. What began with portraits and natural light now flows into a new form of art: the visualization of stories through AI-generated images and videos. My long-standing expertise in image editing and video cutting combines with cutting-edge technology to breathe visual life into characters and worlds. What was once the perfect light for a person is today the perfect image for a story. YouAreART lives on – only today it’s no longer people standing in front of my camera, but ideas and dreams coming to life before my digital eye.
