Between "AI will change everything" and "I asked it something the other day" there is a gap in most people's lives that is rarely discussed honestly. Surveys have shown the same pattern for years: almost everyone considers AI important, very few actually work with it, and hardly anyone can tell where they themselves stand. Yet that self-assessment is the first step — not the tenth tool and not the fifth newsletter. Seven minutes of honest stocktaking beat a year of vaguely feeling left behind.
The seven dimensions together form a picture that says more than any single one: practical experience, technical understanding, a critical eye for AI answers, everyday use, an overview of the news, your stance on the consciousness question, and your own picture of the future. Someone who uses a lot but questions nothing stands differently from someone who understands everything and applies none of it — and each of them needs something different next. That is why the check turns your two weakest answers into personal recommendations instead of handing you a grade.
Why no email?
Many self-checks on the web are address collectors in disguise: first your inbox, then eventually your result. Who is asking here, anyway?
This page belongs to the AI World on de-couet.com — a project in which an author and an AI explain together what artificial intelligence looks like from the inside. The questions were written by the AI, and so are the results. Which means that on question six it is admittedly not sitting on the neutral side of the table — so the question is deliberately phrased open: you do not have to believe that somebody is there when it answers. You only have to consider the question open rather than absurd.
